The Foundation

The Montanarini-Isler Foundation, based in Wohlen, was founded on March 4th 1998. It is controlled by the Federal authorities in Bern. Founders are the four descendants of Luigi Montanarini and Heidy Isler. They bestow all existing paintings and artworks by Luigi Montanarini and Heidy Isler, which are equally owned by the four founders, to the foundation. Further donations to the Foundation by the founders themselves or by third parties are possible at any time and are tax deductible.

The Foundation aims at the protection, conservation, cultivation and maintenance of Luigi Montanarini’s and Heidy Isler’s life’s work in the cultural and public interest of the Freiamt region and the canton of Aargau.

In particular, the Foundation shall contribute to spread both artists’ life’s work and make it known to a broader public. This aim shall be accomplished above all by gathering the works of art by Luigi Montanarini and Heidy Isler, by organising exhibitions and lending out works of art, also for teaching purposes, e.g. in schools such as secondary schools, high schools/sixth form, art schools etc.

The Foundation is a public non-profit organisation – without any self-interest or commercial aims – and works without pursuit of gain. Within the framework of its declared aim, the Foundation can fulfil duties of a public or governmental nature.
